Tira joined KAHUI LEGAL in August 2003 and has been in practice for 14 years. She commenced her legal career at the Wellington office of Russell McVeagh advising corporate clients on commercial matters, including corporate acquisitions, restructuring and regulatory compliance as well as gaining experience in civil litigation and Maori land matters. She later worked at the Sydney office of Australian firm Clayton Utz advising clients in utilities industries on commercial matters including mergers, acquisitions, start-up projects and regulatory compliance.
At Kahui Legal Tira advises clients on commercial matters, including the establishment of governance entities and commercial structures, and in civil litigation and public law. She has represented clients before the Maori Land Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and has assisted in the drafting and implementation of Treaty settlements.
