Herewini joined Kāhui Legal in November 2023 as a Solicitor.  Prior to joint the firm, he work in a large law firm as well as a Te Ao Māori/Te Tiriti policy consultancy.  Herewini was admitted as a solicitor and barrister of the High Court in March 2022.

Herewini was born and bred in Wairarapa on his pā, Papawai.  He is passionate about te ao Māori, and he is dedicated to using his skills for the development of te iwi Māori.  He has some experience in the areas of public law and environment & planning, however he is generally interested in all legal issues relevant to te ao Māori.  He has worked with Councils, infrastructure providers, public sector clients and iwi.

Outside of work he keeps himself busy with kaupapa ā-iwi, and kaupapa reo Māori.
