Tanira is an experienced Commercial Lawyer and Company Secretary.

Tanira has in-depth expertise in complex commercial contracting, including ‘as-a-service’ models, complex licensing arrangements, syndicated arrangements, outsourcing and extensive buy and sell side procurement experience.

Tanira has experience across the financial services, technology and telecommunications sectors.  Tanira has helped to deliver programmes that achieve compliance with Australian, UK and EU regulatory regimes, applicable to banks, that mandate minimum technical and organisational protections to achieve operational resilience.

Previously Company Secretary of six of Telstra’s wholly owned or majority owned subsidiaries, Tanira also has experience providing legal and strategic advice to directors in complex corporate structures.

Tanira began her career at Russell McVeagh in 2007 and returned to New Zealand in 2024 after 15 years in Sydney.  Tanira spent 11 years as in-house counsel for Macquarie Group and Telstra and, prior to that, four years in Gilbert + Tobin’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications team.
